How untreated hearing loss leads to stress (and how you can Stress Down)

Untreated hearing loss is extremely stressful, with a National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey conducted between 2005-2010 finding people with hearing loss are 57% more likely to report depression and anxiety than those without it. Another 2007 survey found that 6 in 10 people with hearing loss display symptoms associated with depression. You can read my article How hearing loss can impact mental health to learn more.

Recognising and accepting you have hearing loss can be difficult for some people but diagnostic tests and hearing aids have changed significantly in recent years, making the process stress-free and more accessible.

For Stress Down Day on Tuesday 24th of July, Blamey Saunders Hears is raising funds for Lifeline by donating them a dollar for every hearing test completed on our website. So head online to find out more about your hearing and to give back to a great cause!
