Hearing aids linked to fewer hospital stays, finds new study

A new study out of the University of Michigan has found that although many older adults with severe hearing loss don’t have hearing aids due to prohibitive costs, those who do are less likely to use costly health services. It says,

 But hearing aids may hold the potential to cut older adults’ visits to the hospital or emergency room.
That could mean lower costs in the long run, though more research is needed to see if this is true.
