Looking after hearing aids

In Australia, it’s still school holidays, so I am prepared to still call it holidays, even though many of us are hard at work.

If you are a  new hearing aid user, then your hearing aids are probably water repellent.  There are not many on the market that are completely waterproof, as you have to seal up the microphones.  Unless you have one of the few that are completely waterproof (no external switches – you’ll have a remote control of some kind) then treat them like water repellent watches.  Don’t go jumping in the sea with them on, and try and avoid showering in them. I have the impression that there are hearing aid users who are a bit over optimistic about what “water repellent” means. You really don’t want to be suddenly finding yourself with hearing aid problems during the holiday period.

By the way, congratulations to our hearing aid customer who has found his lost hearing aid in a tree.  Would love to hear more!

Enjoy the summer.  Take care in the heat  – and don’t stress if you can’t hear absolutely everything.
