Hearing difficulties often pose quite large stresses on partners, families and colleagues, but it is incumbent on the person with the hearing difficulty to get hearing aids. Families and friends can be sensitive and encouraging in their language though. To say “Are you deaf”, when someone hasn’t heard, can sound more like an accusation than a helpful comment. Something less confrontational might be a better path to encouraging someone to get on with getting hearing aids.
We are always happy to answer email or phone enquiries on hearing difficulties at Blamey Saunders hears.
